In Tetralogy a post-apocalyptic fantasy manifests itself in four bodily narratives. Affected by individual strokes of fate, the apocalypse scars itself onto the body. Frozen in time, they capture the paralysis of being stuck between dystopia and utopia, euphoria and misery, faith and suspicion, sadism and masochism. The characters capture not only narratives, but a subliminal feeling, one of uneasiness, all-consuming states of panic, numbness- a specter of anxiety pushing itself through our skin. The work bases itself on the queer narratives of Gregg Araki’s 90’s Teenage Apocalypse Trilogy (1993-1997).
Queerness is not merely a character trait but becomes the building blocks of an entire world. Fore-fronted queer masculinities in a hyper-stylized world contrasted and complemented by the severity and impact of abuse on individuals. Found in a place where the future isn’t considered, where an air of nihilism fogs the landscape, the characters stumble about, lost but free to pursue their own ideas of love liberated from heteronormative structures. A No-Future feeling that can be applied to the ideologies of our post-digital era.

Tetralogy rejects composition rules, which traditionally focuses on the harmony and balance of trilogies (3). Rejection of these norms leaves the trace of queerness onto the work. The choice of creating a tetralogy (4) in order to break structure, conjures an eeriness to the setting of the space and dislocates the viewer.
The three main sculptures are interrupted by a fourth in a dormant state. Slightly hidden, yet still existent it rests in a state of discomfort, putting into question the balance and order of the spatial realms, echoing our lost but free nature.
